Puzzle-Motiv: Ramses Statue in Abu Simbel
Right next to the entrance to the temple of Abu Simbel, the statue of Ramses II rises proudly over 60 feet high. In the 13th century BC, the pharao had the temple carved into the rock to honor Egypt's main deities Amun and Horus. At the foot of the statue Ramses' favorite wife Nefertari is carved into the stone. Since the 1960s, this temple is part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage.
